This position is ideal for a Lead Inspector, Senior Quality Inspector, CMM Inspector, FARO Arm Inspector, ROMER Arm Inspector, Metrology Inspector, QC Lead, or hands-on Quality Inspector who wants to stay active in inspection work while helping lead quality on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on receiving, in-process, first article, layout, and final inspections.
  • Use portable CMM arm equipment such as FARO Arm, Hexagon Arm, ROMER Arm, or similar systems.
  • Perform dimensional inspection, CAD-to-part comparison, layout inspection, tooling / fixture checks, and inspection reporting.
  • Inspect sheet metal, machined, welded, and fabricated metal components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, customer specifications, purchase orders, and quality requirements.
  • Use standard inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, bore gages, indicators, pin gages, and surface plate equipment.
  • Support and guide inspection personnel on the shop floor.
  • Help prioritize inspection workload and support production needs.
  • Work with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Assist with supplier source inspections, NCRs, MRB activity, root cause, and corrective actions.
  • Support AS9100D quality system requirements, audits, inspection records, and traceability documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inspection documentation and quality records.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on quality inspection experience.
  • Experience as a Lead Inspector, Senior Quality Inspector, QC Lead, Quality Supervisor, CMM Inspector, or similar role.
  • Direct hands-on experience with FARO Arm, Hexagon Arm, ROMER Arm, or similar portable CMM arm equipment.
  • Strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills.
  • Experience inspecting sheet metal, machined, welded, fabricated, or precision-machined metal parts.
  • Experience performing first article, receiving, in-process, layout, and final inspections.
  • Proficient with standard inspection tools and surface plate inspection methods.
  • Ability to support and guide other inspectors while remaining hands-on.
  • Strong communication, documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace manufacturing inspection experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 / AS9100D quality requirements.
  • Verisurf software experience strongly preferred.
  • AS9102 First Article Inspection / FAIR documentation experience, including Forms 1, 2, and 3.
  • Experience creating or reviewing ballooned drawings and characteristic accountability reports.
  • Experience with PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, CMM Manager, CAM2, or similar metrology software.
  • CMM programming or portable CMM inspection routine experience.
  • Aerospace welding, fabrication, and sheet metal inspection experience.
  • Supplier source inspection experience.
  • NCR, MRB, CAPA, root cause, and corrective action experience.
  • AS9100 internal audit experience.
