Description:
The Management Trainee – Restaurant & Events is a developmental leadership position designed for aspiring hospitality professionals seeking hands-on experience in private club operations. This role rotates through restaurant, banquet, and event operations while developing supervisory, administrative, and member service skills. The Management Trainee works closely with the Food & Beverage leadership team to ensure exceptional dining experiences and successful execution of club events.
This position provides exposure to all aspects of restaurant and event management, preparing the trainee for future leadership opportunities within the club or hospitality industry.
Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Hospitality Management, Business, Event Management, or related field preferred. Strong knowledge of food and beverage service.
· Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills with a member focused mindset.
· Strong leadership potential and desire for career growth.
· High level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with POS and club management software is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
Restaurant Operations
· Assist in the daily supervision of dining room operations.
· Support opening and closing procedures.
· Monitor service standards to ensure an exceptional member experience.
· Assist with floor management during meal periods.
· Help coordinate reservations and seating assignments.
· Address member requests and resolve service concerns promptly and professionally.
· Ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all dining areas.
· Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Event & Banquet Operations
· Assist in planning, organizing, and executing weddings, golf outings, member events, tournaments, holiday celebrations, and private functions.
· Coordinate room setup, décor, timelines, and event logistics.
· Work with culinary and banquet teams to ensure seamless event execution.
· Monitor events to ensure quality service and guest satisfaction.
· Assist with post-event breakdown and evaluations.
Leadership Development
· Learn and apply private club service standards.
· Supervise and motivate hourly staff during assigned shifts.
· Participate in staff scheduling and labor management.
· Assist with employee training and onboarding.
· Conduct pre-shift meetings when assigned.
· Develop conflict resolution and coaching skills.
Administrative Duties
· Assist with event data entries in catering system
· Assist with inventory management and ordering.
· Monitor beverage and supply levels.
· Complete daily operational reports.
· Learn budgeting and cost control practices.
· Support payroll and scheduling functions as assigned.
· Assist with menu updates and promotional materials.
Member Experience
· Build positive relationships with members and guests.
· Anticipate member needs and deliver personalized service.
· Promote club events and dining experiences.
· Represent the club with professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm.
