Job description

Position Overview
The Business Analyst, Perishables, will leverage data and insights to build analyses of perishable inventory to forecast inventory that is at risk of expiring its code date and, or excess inventory that will not move through the facility before its code date expires. The Business Analyst, Perishables will partner with Operations, Procurement, Merchandising, and Commerical teams to identify perishable inventory at risk of expiring its code date and provide recommendations of the best way to move the inventory that delivers the highest value return to the organization. The Business Analyst, Perishables will also inspect inbound loads of perishable inventory being received into the facility to ensure inventory meets all safety and USDA requirements. The Business Analyst, Perishables will be responsible for making spot audits and inspections of perishable inventory within the facility to ensure inventory is moving in and out of the facility to ensure inventory does not expire its code date.

Job Description
  • Analyzes data and insights to project excess perishable inventory and, or inventory at risk of expiring its code date. Partner with Procurement and Merchandising teams to develop promotional selling programs and costs to move inventory out of facilities before its code date expires.
  • Advises and makes recommendations to the Commercial team on the best avenue to move perishable inventory at risk of expiring its code dates that would provide the return of value to the organization.
  • Performs inspections and audits of perishable inventory coming into facilities via inbound loads, spot audits and inspections of perishable inventory in the warehouse, and inspections of perishable inventory returned through the OS&D process.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for Operations and ICQA team when perishable inventory is at risk of expiring its code date to be identified within the facility and moved out of the facility.
  • Travel Required: Yes

Environment
  • Warehouse: Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)

Skills
  • Ability to operate pallet jack and other required materials handling equipment (MHE). Knowledge of fresh or perishable grocery products inclusive of sourcing, USDA regulations, shelf life, etc. preferred.
  • Sound statistical acumen, interpretation and analytical ability. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Must be able to lift over 60 lbs.

Years Of Experience
  • 2-5: 2+ years of experience in warehouse environment and, or inspection role with primary focus of analyzing inventory trends. Experience in fresh or perishable retail or grocery industry, preferred.
