If the position is covered, prior to being hired, promoted, or transferred into the position, the candidate must successfully pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check. Prior to being granted unescorted access to cyber secure areas, the candidate must attend cyber security training. Annual cyber security training is also required.

SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, serves as an engineering aide or trainee, applying basic electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering knowledge to assist in the design, development, and coordination of minor projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicates verbally or in writing with customers, company personnel, and outside agencies to provide service, assistance, and information for customers and/or departments
Applies general mathematical and electrical, civil, and mechanical knowledge to assist in the design of small projects related to area of responsibility
Performs field research and inspections on electrical systems, material, and equipment
Applies basic knowledge of applicable codes, specification, standards, and engineering practices and principles to area of responsibility
Generates or analyzes computer data
Assists in the preparation, development, and maintenance of routine drawings, charts, graphs, and prints
Prepares and submits all design paperwork to initiate project implementation
Gathers, reviews, summarizes, and maintains records for internal and external department or project use

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED with five to six years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

Must possess a current, legally valid driver's license and meet the company's driving record requirements.
