Job description

Position Title: Logistics Specialist/Ship Maintenance Support

Position Location: Norfolk, VA

Position Details: Full Time

Description

ITMS, Inc. is seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist to join our team of subject matter experts supporting Military Sealift Command’s (MSC) Ship Maintenance Support Program. Our team provides a full range of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) services to ships operating worldwide. This position is located in Norfolk, VA and requires up to 10% travel. This position requires an active SECRET clearance at the time of applying.

Logistics Specialist duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Research, order, and track material identified by Principal Port engineers as Government Furnished Material (GFM)
  • Perform technical edit screening on all material or service order requests
  • Research, submit, track, and validate requisitions and material required to support ship mission, repair, ashore allowances, and shipboard allowance requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain the status of all material ordered for ship maintenance availabilities; participate in cradle to grave tracking processes to support ship maintenance scheduling.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy of all assigned vessels stored in various MSC warehouses
  • Perform task administration, team training and quality assurance
  • Technical writing, developing, editing, reviewing and formatting trainee and desk guides.

Logistics Specialist Qualifications include:

  • The Logistics Specialist shall have an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • The Logistics Specialist shall have a High school diploma or equivalent
  • The Logistics Specialist should be able to reliably report onsite in Norfolk, VA, and be willing to travel up to 10%.
  • It is desired that the Logistics Specialist shall have, at a minimum, 10 to 14 years of demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and relevant experience in fleet sustainment logistics support services to fleet vessels of the MSC, U.S. Navy, or U.S. Coast Guard.
  • Experience with ship acquisition and fleet sustainment support services utilizing any of the following systems: MSC/Navy/Coast Guard/Commercial databases/systems as well as One Touch Supply, LogiQuest, or Haystack and FedMall
  • Highly proficient in MS Office products, particularly Excel

Pay Range: $30.51/hour to 32.22/hour
