Trainee Architects are individuals who are in the process of completing their professional training to become licensed architects. They typically work under the supervision of experienced architects, gaining practical experience while applying the knowledge acquired during their academic studies. Trainee Architects assist with tasks such as preparing drawings, conducting research, creating models, and coordinating with other professionals on design projects. This role is essential for developing the skills and experience required for full architectural licensure. The duration and requirements of a trainee position can vary depending on the country and the specific architectural accreditation board.

What types of projects and responsibilities can a trainee architect expect to be involved with during their early career?

As a Trainee Architect, you can expect to participate in a variety of tasks that support senior architects and design teams. These often include preparing drawings and models, assisting with design documentation, conducting site visits, and researching materials or building codes. You'll typically collaborate closely with other team members and may interact with clients or contractors under supervision. This hands-on exposure helps build your technical skills and understanding of project workflows, providing a strong foundation for future advancement.
