American GFM Corporation, an industrial machine tool builder, is seeking multiple mechanically inclined self-motivated candidates for:

Machinist / Industrial Mechanic Trainee

American GFM Corporation is seeking motivated individuals to join our Machinist / Industrial Mechanic Training Program. This program is designed to develop highly skilled craftsmen capable of producing precision components for advanced industrial machinery.

What You Will Learn

Successful candidates will receive hands-on training to:

  • Read blueprints and routed instructions to determine scope of work
  • Set up and operate precision metalworking equipment such as mills, lathes, and grinders
  • Use precision measuring tools to ensure dimensional accuracy within tight tolerances
  • Utilize modern computer technology and software to design and program parts using CAD/CAM systems
  • Apply problem-solving skills in a real-world industrial environment

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math and mechanical aptitude
  • Strong attention to detail and desire to produce high-quality precision work
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment mechanical aptitude test (written and practical)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening

Compensation and Advancement

American GFM offers a competitive wage and benefits package:

  • Starting wage of $17.50 per hour
  • $0.50 wage increase every 90 days during the 18-month training program, contingent on meeting progress goals
  • Opportunities for advancement upon successful completion of the program

The instructor leading the program began as a machinist apprentice in 1995 and spent nearly three decades operating a wide variety of machine tools. Trainees benefit from direct mentorship from someone with extensive real-world shop experience.
