Senior Mechanical Project Engineer- Machines

DESCRIPTION

- Design or redesign cost effective components, equipment and/or systems using engineering

standards and computer aided design, and using Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.

- Prepare engineering drawings for components, assemblies, and plant layouts. Check drawings

prepared by less experienced members of the Engineering team.

- Process engineering change orders/requests and complete by assigned due dates.

- Prepare bills of materials and process routings in MRP/ERP system.

- Analyze and approve designs of suppliers or subcontractors providing specific feedback as to if

the product/service meets specification requirements.

- Analyze commercially available components and determine their suitability for incorporation

into equipment.

- Review and disposition component non-conformances.

- Provide technical support to other departments and customers.

- Provide technical support for company products throughout their life cycles.

- Mentor and train less experienced members of the Engineering team.

- Prepare and update standards and procedures.

- Manage job projects / orders from receipt of order to shipment including preparing Gantt charts.


QUALIFICATIONS

- A four-year, Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. A candidate with a two-year (associates) degree may be considered with

12+ years of relevant experience.

- 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in food processing.

- Strong mechanical aptitude.

- Innovative problem solver; recognizing customer needs, defining alternatives, and selling and

implementing them.

- Strong project management, organizational, and communication (written & oral) skills.

- Strong presentation skills.

- Extensive experience with creating 3D models. Extensive experience with creating drawings

using GD&T formats, preferably in accordance with ASME Y14.5.

- Proficient with computer software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
