Job description

Welcome To The Traegerhood: Our business is BBQ, and business tastes good. Traeger invented the wood pellet grill over 30 years ago, and we've been revolutionizing outdoor cooking ever since. We're a team of disruptors, innovators, problem solvers, and food fanatics who are dedicated to bringing people together to create a more flavorful world. From our headquarters in Salt Lake City and beyond, we work tirelessly to provide a world-class experience to our customers, retailers, and especially our employees. If you're a team player who's dedicated to delivering top-quality results every day, then we want you to come cook with us!

What You'll Do: The Supply Planner manages inventory optimization and supply planning for assigned product categories, leveraging MRP/ERP systems to balance customer demand, working capital, and supply chain cost efficiency. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams-including demand planning, operations, manufacturing, logistics, and finance-as well as vendor partners to ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence. The Supply Planner is a contributor to the S&OP process, providing analytical insights, identifying supply risks, and executing strategies that support both operational execution and strategic business objectives.

How You'll Help Us Win:

  • Develop and execute supply plans across assigned categories using MRP/ERP systems to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Manage PO lifecycle including creation, timing, expediting, and financial impact tracking in collaboration with procurement and finance
  • Maintain and optimize supply chain master data (lead times, safety stock levels, reorder points, MOQs) to improve planning accuracy
  • Monitor inventory performance against targets and proactively adjust plans to balance service levels with working capital efficiency
  • Identify supply risks and constraints, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate impacts to stakeholders
  • Contribute actionable insights to monthly S&OP process including demand-supply reconciliation, scenario planning, and capacity analysis
  • Collaborate with demand planning to understand forecast changes, new product launches, and promotional impacts on supply requirements
  • Partner with manufacturing, logistics, and vendor partners to resolve supply issues and optimize lead times
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and commercialization activities by developing launch supply strategies and managing ramp-up inventory
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance planning efficiency, reduce costs, and improve forecast accuracy
  • Create data-driven analyses and presentations for cross-functional partners and leadership to support strategic decisions
  • Manage product lifecycle transitions including phase-ins, phase-outs, and end-of-life inventory strategies

Core Competencies:

  • Analytical & Data-Driven Decision Making - Translates complex data sets into clear insights; builds models and scenarios to support supply chain decisions
  • Systems Proficiency - Proficient navigation of MRP/ERP platforms; understands system logic and how master data changes impact planning outputs
  • Supply Chain Acumen - Solid understanding of supply planning fundamentals including lead times, safety stock theory, service levels, and inventory optimization
  • Problem Solving & Critical Thinking - Breaks down complex supply issues, identifies root causes, and develops practical solutions under time pressure
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Builds productive relationships across planning, operations, finance, and vendor partners; aligns stakeholders toward common goals
  • Communication & Influence - Articulates supply chain concepts clearly to non-technical audiences; supports stakeholders in understanding recommended actions
  • Ownership & Accountability - Takes ownership of supply plans for assigned categories; follows through on commitments without requiring oversight
  • Strategic Thinking - Understands broader business context and how supply decisions impact financial metrics, customer service, and operational efficiency
  • Attention to Detail - Maintains accuracy in forecasts, master data, and planning outputs; catches errors before they impact operations
  • Adaptability & Priority Management - Effectively manages multiple categories and shifting priorities; adjusts plans quickly when business conditions change

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 1-3+ years of experience in supply planning, production planning, inventory management, or related supply chain role
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar platforms)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, data modeling)
  • Working knowledge of supply chain fundamentals including inventory theory, lead time management, and demand-supply balancing
  • Experience participating in S&OP processes
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional relationships and collaborate with stakeholders

Preferred:

  • SQL or other data analysis tools (Power BI, Tableau, Python)
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or similar supply chain credentials
  • Experience in consumer products, manufacturing, or retail environments
  • New product introduction (NPI) and product lifecycle management experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodology training

Why You'll Love Working Here:
