Position

The Investment Associate is a key member of the Private Advisor team, with a focus on analyzing potential investments across both public and private markets. The role is heavily focused on trade execution, including managing daytoday trading operations, in addition to the responsibilities outlined below. The Investment Associate partners closely with team analysts to manage trading operations and support client portfolio allocation, while also conducting ongoing due diligence on both existing and prospective investments. This role further involves coordinating and communicating on various ad hoc projects aimed at expanding the group's capabilities, efficiency, and scalability.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a key member of the advisor team supporting investment portfolio management and trading operations; this is a critical desk role requiring consistent coverage during market hours to ensure timely trade execution and issue resolution
  • Cover the trading desk during market hours (and coordinate backup coverage as needed) to support real-time market activity, client requests, and portfolio rebalancing
  • Monitor portfolio positions for changing dynamics, both positive and negative
  • In depth company due diligence on public and private opportunities
  • Analysis of portfolio returns and contributors/detractors on both an absolute basis and relative to benchmarks when appropriate
  • Assist in analysis of portfolio risk and risk mitigation techniques including hedging
  • Maintain a high standard of communication across the Investment, Relationship Management, and Service & Operations teams
  • Assist the team on various projects to advance the business' capabilities over time
  • Assist the team with any tasks that require a more analytical mindset
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of research & financial analysis experience in the investment field
  • 3-5 years of portfolio trading experience
  • Options trading experience and knowledge is a plus
  • Demonstrated interest in research & financial analysis in the investment field
  • CFA, CAIA, and/or MBA preferred
  • Series 7 & 66 preferred or willingness to obtain
Skills
  • Strong skills in working with investment-related data services including Bloomberg & FactSet
  • Strong understanding of equity, debt, and options-based investing
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing market conditions, reporting needs and requirements
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), exceptional interpersonal abilities, dedicated team member
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize competing deadlines with a strong sense of urgency
Compensation Range

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $75,000 to $115,000. Base salary for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. In addition, this role may be eligible for other variable compensation programs.
