Job description

Overview
CORT Tradeshow and Events is hiring immediately for a full-time Operations Manager in Stoughton, MA.
CORT Events provides furniture rental solutions to trade shows and events including festivals, weddings, corporate events, or even the Superbowl! The Operations Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of warehouse and transportation operations within the district. This includes managing daily workflows, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, overseeing inventory and fleet operations, and driving operational efficiency. The Operations Manager provides leadership to warehouse and delivery teams, manages labor and scheduling, and ensures alignment with company goals.
This is an onsite position performed from the CORT distribution centers and event venues that CORT delivers to.
Pay: $72,000 / year
Schedule: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends, is required.

Responsibilities
Operational Planning & Labor Scheduling: Forecast labor needs and schedule drivers, temporary labor, and warehouse staff to meet operational demands while maintaining budget and coverage requirements. Monitor delivery progress via showsite app & adjust daily workloads to meet business needs.
Routing, Scheduling & Dispatching: Schedule deliveries and labor hours, maintain availability, and route trucks efficiently. Provide real-time support to delivery team, and customers. Follow up on any issues with deliveries or pickups. Ensure compliance with Descartes routing software, Geotab, and KPIs.
Event Planning & Coordination: Collaborates with sales teams and clients to understand furniture needs, designs, and layouts for events. Manage production of custom pieces or modifications to meet specific event requirements. Develop timelines for furniture production, assembly, and delivery based on event schedules. Oversee deliveries/installations and pickups/breakdowns at venues as needed.
Team Leadership: Coach, train, and motivate staff; manage performance and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Interviewing and Onboarding: Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training of warehouse and delivery personnel. Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to support employee development and operational excellence.
Inventory and Asset Management: Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, condition, maintenance, cleaning, and repairs. Monitor inventory to ensure availability for upcoming events, avoiding overbooking or shortages, and coordinate transfers between districts.
Fleet and Equipment Oversight: Ensure vehicle inspections, maintenance, and DOT compliance; manage warehouse equipment and safety gear. Coordinate with third-party vendors for transportation or equipment servicing.
Budgeting, Forecasting and Cost Control: Manage and forecast warehouse and payroll costs to ensure alignment with district financial goals. Monitor daily expenditures, analyze cost trends, and implement strategies to meet or exceed monthly EBIT forecasts. Proactively plan and collaborate with leadership to
maintain budget discipline and drive operational efficiency.
Safety and Compliance: Lead safety initiatives and meetings, conduct audits, and ensure adherence to TMS and DOT standards.
Customer Service and Issue Resolution: Act as escalation point for customer issues and respond to last minute requests or changes. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure satisfaction.
Administrative Duties: Manage paperwork, payroll, and reporting; use tools to track KPIs and support decision-making.
Project Management: Lead warehouse improvement projects, including layout optimization, rack planning, and inventory reorganization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with sales, asset management, and customer service teams to align operational goals.

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; college degree preferred
• 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, event operations, or distribution management
• Prior event operations, tradeshow, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong understanding of logistics, safety, and compliance standards; Knowledge of DOT regulations
