Tracked Vehicle Engineering Project Lead
Sterling Heights, MI

Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance
We are hiring an Engineering Project Lead in Sterling Heights, MI to support advanced tracked military vehicle development, integration, and program execution for mission-critical defense platforms. This role requires expertise in systems integration, engineering project management, EVMS, risk management, defense program execution, vehicle systems engineering, and cross-functional leadership supporting next-generation armored combat vehicle programs.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead system-level design, integration, build, and test activities for tracked vehicle platforms
  • Develop and execute project plans, integrated schedules, and funding strategies
  • Apply Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and risk management principles to monitor performance
  • Establish and track project metrics, demand forecasts, and performance indicators
  • Interpret, manage, and author contractual scope and technical requirements
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for internal stakeholders, leadership, and customers
  • Support proposal development, RFIs, and bid activities
  • Coordinate issue resolution, change management, and customer-driven updates
  • Lead cross-functional teams and support program execution to meet cost and schedule targets
  • Evaluate and implement process improvements to enhance engineering throughput and customer satisfaction
  • Facilitate technical and program reviews and represent engineering to senior leadership and customers

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law and must be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
  • 7+ years of engineering/project experience
  • 5+ years in defense or aerospace environments (preferred)
  • Proven experience leading complex system design, development, and integration efforts
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and critical path analysis
  • Experience applying EVMS and risk management frameworks
  • PMP certification (preferred)
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in indirect leadership roles
  • Ability to assess technical risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Experience managing customer relationships and technical interfaces
  • Strong capability in contract interpretation and scope management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard engineering/program tools
