What jobs pay 2000 a day?

High-paying jobs that can reach $2,000 a day include specialized roles such as surgeons, anesthesiologists, corporate lawyers, and certain executive positions. These roles typically require advanced education, certifications, and significant experience, often working in high-stakes environments or on a contract basis. Freelance consultants and project managers in certain industries may also achieve this level of daily income with the right clients and expertise.

What are the 7 types of occupations?

Occupations can be categorized into seven main types: professional, managerial, technical, skilled trades, clerical, service, and labor or unskilled work. These categories help organize job roles based on skill level, education, and work environment, and are used in workforce planning and career development.

What is the difference between Track Positions vs Logistics Coordinators?

AspectTrack PositionsLogistics Coordinators
Required CredentialsHigh school diploma or equivalent; some roles may require certificationsHigh school diploma; certifications like Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) are common
Work EnvironmentWarehouses, distribution centers, transportation hubsOffice settings, warehouses, shipping facilities
Employer & Industry UsageUsed across supply chain, transportation, and logistics companiesPrimarily in logistics, supply chain management, and shipping companies

Track Positions generally refer to roles focused on monitoring and managing the movement of goods within supply chains, often involving tracking systems and data entry. Logistics Coordinators handle broader coordination tasks, including scheduling, communication, and ensuring shipments are on time. While both roles are integral to logistics operations, Track Positions are more specialized in tracking activities, whereas Logistics Coordinators oversee overall logistics processes.

Which jobs pay 50 an hour in the USA?

Scientist Positions at STScI

Scientist Positions at STScI

Space Telescope Science Institute

Baltimore, MD โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Posted 19 days ago

Job description

The Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) is the operational home of theย Hubble Space Telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, and the upcoming Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, along withย ever-growing data archives and public outreach. These missions are guided by a world-class staff of astronomers who support all areasย of mission activity and conduct their own self-guided independentย research. With continued scientific success of both the Hubble and the James Webb Space Telescopes, STScI begins a new and exciting multi-mission era that will growย again with Roman and future strategic missions (e.g., the Habitable Worlds Observatory). We are now seekingย researchers with scientific and technical skills in a broad range of areas in astronomy or planetaryย science, whether observational, instrumental or theoretical, to fill severalย open positions in key areas โ€“Ultraviolet Spectroscopy, High contrast imaging, and solar system science ย -- with additional positions available forย general science support.ย

This position can support hybrid work. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to our local market to work onsite as needed. (MD, DE, VA, PA, DC & WV).

Ultraviolet Spectroscopy

Ultraviolet spectroscopy remains a crucial area of expertise for STScI.ย Ultraviolet capabilities continue to beย inย high demand on the current Hubble Space Telescope and will be key for the Large Infrared/Optical/Ultraviolet Space Telescope recommended as the first mission in the recent Decadal Survey. We are seeking astronomersย with an active research portfolio involving ultraviolet spectroscopy (either rest-frame OR observer frame UV) toย help support this strategic scientific area.

High Contrast Imaging/Coronagraphy

We are also seeking applicants with deep and current expertise inย high-contrast imagingโ€”particularly coronagraphy. Coronagraphic expertise will support and enhance the scientific return of Hubble and JWST and will guide the operational foundations for HWO.

General Astronomy and Planetary Science

In addition to the areas specifically called out above, we welcome applications fromย scientists with expertise in any research area in astronomy or planetary science, whether observational, instrumental or theoretical.

The Space Telescope Science Institute aims to expand the frontiers of space astronomy by serving the science community and public in their endeavors to explore and understand the universe,ย to foster an environment of honesty, respect, inclusiveness, trust, and ethical behavior, to build on our achievements by laying the foundations for the next generation of astronomy space missions, and to enable the extraordinary in our missions by leveraging the skills of our diverse staff.ย Theย researchย staff is an integral component of achieving the success in science operations for the Hubble Space Telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, and any future STScIโ€™s space mission.

This hiring campaign will specifically seek scientist-track positions at any level of seniority. Scientist-track researchers typically spend 80% of their time supporting science operations (e.g. detector characterization, instrument calibrations, data monitoring and trending, user support) and 20% on independent research. With grant support, scientist-track staff can increase their research fraction up to 50%.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and research experience in astronomy, planetary science, or a related discipline. The successful applicants will provide operational and developmental support in one or more areas of the Hubble, James Webb, and Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescopes, and the data archive (MAST, including TESS and Kepler data). Successful candidates must be able to cultivate strong working relationships and communicate effectively within cross-disciplinary teams composed of individuals from our many mission partners.ย

Candidates will be assessed on the basis of their research impact, experience and vision, technical skills, and on their potential match against STScI functional requirements.

Applicants should submit the following materials in aย single pdf file:

  1. a cover letter (maximum 2 pages),ย
  2. a curriculum vitae and bibliography,
  3. and a summary of current and future research interests, including a description of technical skills (maximum 3 pages). References will not count towards the page limits.

Applicants will be asked to submit the names and email addresses of three individuals who will be able to write letters of reference on their behalf.ย

Candidates should take advantage of the cover letter to describe their particular interest in working at STScI. Candidates will exclusively be considered for scientist-track positions, and they can use the cover letter to indicate how they may be particularly well-suited to such a position.

TO APPLY:ย Share your experience by uploading your application materials. Applications received by June 12, 2026 and reference letters received by June 19, 2026 will receive full consideration.ย

STScI considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as internal pay equity, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidateโ€™s experience, education, skill, and current market conditions. Salary range of $115-185K.ย  Individuals needing assistance with the employment process can contact us atย careers@stsci.edu.
