Job Summary

As a member of the Comcast Product Support Accounting team, this role is responsible for accounting and financial analysis related to development and support costs, partnering with various Finance teams. Key responsibilities include preparing monthly and quarterly financial analysis and reporting, recording journal entries, and performing monthend workpaper reconciliations supporting the Technology, Product, and Experience (TPX) organization. The role requires strong accounting expertise, sound judgment, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a collaborative approach to supporting crossfunctional stakeholders.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for accounting of various development and support costs for multiple business units in the TPX organization.
  • Ensures that balance sheets are accurately stated and reconciled to the general ledger. Researches variances, determines root causes and makes recommendations for adjustments.
  • Enters monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper backup to substantiate the entry.
  • Reviews financial statements for operating trends and results, researching variances to forecast and budget prior month and prior year.
  • Prepares financial reports, analyzing data for management review.
  • Present/Communicate monthly operating results to the assigned business units; provide business units continuous support on related accounting issues.
  • Researches complex accounting data in order to comply with new accounting policy implementation.
  • Identifies and drives process improvement initiatives across the Accounting function by researching automation, standardization, and streamlining opportunities, including the development and enhancement of custom reporting solutions in Oracle and Incorta.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
