Service Parts & Accessories Overview
The Service Parts & Accessories (SPA) groups vision is to provide the right products and services at the right time and place, contributing to an extraordinary ownership experience and Toyota's success. SPA is looking for a highly motivated and qualified engineering majors for an internship opportunity. You will engage in basic problem solving and identification of alternative solutions for a specific problem or task while applying technical engineering knowledge with management guidance.
Internship opportunities are offered under one of the groups listed below each term.
  • Business Operations: leads overall product offering strategy and manages the development and product launch catalog to ensure there is product-market fit.
  • Product Development: overseeing the accessory and service parts planning process, including preparation, presentation, and management of a development/launch plan
  • Business Strategy & Systems: business analytics, business strategy, service parts programs, and exploring opportunities for business growth in new and innovative markets.
  • Development Engineering: manages design/styling, development, and testing of accessory products, including maintenance of engineering standards used to define technical specifications.
  • Quality Engineering: manages pre-launch validation and post-launch sustainment of quality standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have minimum GPA of 2.7
  • Must have completed at least one full academic year at a two- or four-year college or university after high school (sophomore standing or above)
  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited two- or four- year college or university, pursuing a degree in one of the following engineering fields:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering

What you'll be doing
  • Complete manager-assigned tasks
  • Manage work schedule to ensure timely completion
  • Provide hands-on support to engineers - review drawings, enter data into tracking/storage software, perform research, develop documentation, etc.
  • Collaborate with suppliers
  • Learn "voice of the customer" mentality and apply it to daily work
  • Support product & vehicle fit ups ("hands on")
  • Problem solve during development and/or after launch of accessories through root cause analysis
  • Support model year-to-model year carryover verification
  • Prepare documentation for discussions with Japanese counterparts
  • Create product business cases and review them with management
  • Support discussions with Toyota plants and manufacturing facilities
  • Create and manage product development schedules
  • Support project management of ongoing enterprise initiatives
