Tool & Die Team Member

Starting Pay: $35.50 - $46.50 Per Hour
Based Upon Experience & Skill LevelUp to

$26,000 total relocation assistance available for Team Members relocating greater than 75 miles away from Mazda Toyota Manufacturing and moving within 50 miles to Mazda Toyota Manufacturing.
Five (5) additional days off for relocation needs (in addition to the 15 days PTO in the first calendar year, prorated in hire year).
$5,000 Sign on Bonus: $2,500 paid at 60 days of employment, $2,500 at 120 days of employment.

Position Description

Tool and Die skilled team members' mission is to maintain automotive stamping dies in a production atmosphere by utilizing die shop related equipment such as manual machines, hand grinders, and other hand tools while remaining focused on continuous improvement, predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities while working in a safe and efficient manner.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Modify/adjust basic parameters on the tryout press,
  • Troubleshoot dies such as formability, sensors, and part defects in production lines for immediate resolution to issues related to Safety, Quality, and productivity by adjusting/replacing mechanical, pneumatic and electrical components using various hand tools related to the Tool and Die field.
  • Work in a safe and respectful manner to protect yourself and those around you from unsafe acts.
  • Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on automotive stamping dies in alignment with standard work instructions.
  • Utilize Tool & Die related equipment to perform necessary machining and modifications for repairs and overall improvements of die functionality.
  • Design, fabricate, and repair parts for various aspects of the stamping operations focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Welding dies and components utilizing ARC, TIG, and MIG welders
  • Crane and Forklift operation
Requirements / Skills
  • Experience working in a Tool and Die role maintaining stamping dies utilizing techniques such as die spotting, trim repair, punch fitting/entry, formability improvements and the ability to use related hand tools.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal forming, trimming, piercing flanging and basic understanding of metallurgy related to the different cast iron and steel used in dies.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Preference of a Journeyman Tool and Die certificate or 8 years hands on experience.
  • Team Members are required to work rotating shifts and to support daily and weekend overtime.
