Job description

Middle School Math Teacher

Tower Hill School seeks a qualified candidate for the position of full time Middle School Math Teacher beginning in August of 2026. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in mathematics, versatility to teach various levels of math, comfortable working with technology, and a passion for working with middle school students. In addition, the candidate should have the collaborative skills to work with a department of dedicated, talented colleagues, be familiar with current best practices and pedagogy, and possess a strong sense of responsibility for the success of every student. While coaching and club leadership experience are preferred, they are not required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach four sections of middle school math
    • Specific grades and content determined based on candidate's experience and needs of the department
  • Participate in regular conferences with students, parents and colleagues
  • Engage in the design and development of curricular materials with colleagues
  • Serve as an advisor for up to 10 students
  • Assist with student supervision and chaperoning
  • Design assessments and use data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices
  • Differentiate plans for individual students based on their unique learning profiles so that all students are engaged and challenged

Desired Qualifications

  • B.S in Math or related field required, Master's or above preferred
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching middle school aged students, growth mindset and willingness to engage in self-reflective teaching practice
  • Experience in student centered education and differentiation
  • Sensitivity to the developmental stages and well-being of children
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
  • Enthusiasm for professional growth, academic excellence and creative teaching
  • Ability to plan and organize educational content
  • Commitment to broad participation in school life
  • Experience in and commitment to the ongoing development and maintenance of an inclusive campus community
