What is a towel folder?

Towel folders are workers responsible for folding towels, typically in settings such as hotels, laundries, spas, or gyms. Their main duties include sorting, folding, and stacking towels to ensure they are presentable and ready for use by guests or customers. Towel folders may also inspect towels for stains or damage, and sometimes operate basic laundry equipment. Attention to detail and efficiency are important skills for this job, as is the ability to work on one's feet for extended periods. This position often plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness and customer satisfaction in hospitality and service industries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a towel folder, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Towel Folder, you need strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment; no formal qualifications are typically required. Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and basic health and safety protocols is often necessary. Reliability, teamwork, and time management are valuable soft skills that help in meeting daily quotas and maintaining quality standards. These abilities ensure that towels are consistently folded to high standards, supporting the smooth operation of hospitality, fitness, or laundry facilities.

    • Inspect output throughout shifts; correct defects immediately.

    • Maintain OSHA-compliant safety, cleanliness, and equipment lockout/tagout practices.

  • Equipment & Facility
