Job description

Description Under general direction of the Sports & Conventions Servicing Coordinator, the Tourism Intern assists with planning, execution and post event follow-up of events and activities associated with tourism, conventions, meetings, conferences, sports events and hospitality in the City of College Station. This is a part-time non-benefited position with flexible shifts, Monday - Friday, requiring occasional weekend/evening hours based on events. Principal Duties Perform a variety of administrative office support duties including but not limited to, assisting with registration, tracking promotional inventory, assisting with and tracking social media postings, creating informational and promotional packets/bags, and maintaining/updating digital library of local attractions.

Assist with planning, preparation, and participation of Visit College Station events, including client events, site visits, and familiarization trips. Develop and maintain a knowledge base about the City of College Station destination to promote College Station tourism and events, proactively provide support, and improve overall customer/client experience. Serve customers/visitors by providing information related to local tourism events and activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or recent graduate with a degree in related field. Valid Texas Driver's License.

Ability to provide excellent customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills to complete daily tasks and a variety of projects Experience working with events/activities, demonstrated reliability and work ethic.

Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook. Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred: Photography and editing experience.
