Job Description

Summary

Responsible for assisting the Studio Tour Driver Manager with managing the Studio Tour Driver staff, Teamsters - Local 399, also includes managing the day-to-day operation of the Studio Tour.

Essential Functions

  • Assist the Manager in hiring, training and development of Teamsters Local 399 driver staff.
  • Responsible for managing all employees by setting work expectations and leadership standards. Offering consistent and timely feedback to hourly staff to ensure effective communication between management and staff.
  • Develop and implement programs to improve guest and employee satisfaction. Ensure appropriate and timely investigation of vehicle accidents and response to guest and employee concerns.
  • Oversee employee reviews and counseling to ensure all guidelines and policies are followed.  Encourages employee development and participate in employee interviews for Lead and Seasonal Supervisor positions.
  • Work closely with other unions B-192, Studio Guides and Studio Tour Ambassadors.
  • Coordinates and maintains the daily tour route while working with other departments such as Lower Lot, Special Events and Technical Services.
  • Serve as designated duty manager for the daily studio tour operation, weekly as scheduled.
  • Assists in creating, maintaining and supporting the labor and non-labor budgets.
  • Review and approve all hourly staff time and attendance forms for accuracy.
  • Provide daily summary of day-to-day operations.
  • Work closely with garage personnel on tram and vehicle maintenance.
  • Develop and drive programs to build a culture of driver technical proficiency and safety.
  • Ensure staff is in compliance with associated DOT, California Ride Safety, and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school education required
  • Minimum 3 years of operations management experience in transportation, theme park or hospitality industry, including experience in guest service.
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Must be available to work on weekends, holidays and nights as required
  • Need to be a quick thinker with the ability to make sound decisions.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Two or four year college degree preferred, or equivalent work experiences required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Work and PowerPoint
  • Experience managing in a union environment
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proactive thinker/self-starter

Additional Requirements:

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
