Job description

The Global Market Strategist is responsible for developing and recommending investment strategies to achieve particular investor objectives and desired outcomes. This individual will develop written content used by Touchstone sales professionals and Touchstone's clients to effectively convey investment information and strategies. The position also serves as Touchstone spokesperson regarding timely investment themes and strategies which are facilitated by Touchstone's spectrum of comingled investment solutions.


What you will do:

  • Authors content (e.g., “white papers,” proof statements) supportive of positioning Touchstone and its Funds.
  • Develops periodic review of asset classes and performance of Touchstone funds within those classes.
  • Analyzes investment scenarios and determines optimal portfolio structure to achieve desired outcome characteristics (e.g., yield, return, risk).
  • Produces research and strategy (e.g., asset allocation) related to timely investment themes and how Touchstone funds provide solutions for such themes.
  • Provides timely insights regarding market events or economic releases.
  • Presents at due diligence events, sales events and client events regarding markets, asset classes, themes and Touchstone funds.
  • Supports institutional and retail messaging and sales efforts.
  • Collaborates with sub-advisors and third-party resources to leverage content development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

  • Bachelor's Degree - Required
  • MBA a plus. - Preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years' relevant investment experience preferably as an Investment Strategist or Portfolio Manager. - Required
  • Proven experience authoring investment content. - Required
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) charterholder strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated strong investment management acumen and analytical skills- preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent written communication skills. required
  • Demonstrated solid interpersonal skills and experience in public speaking; experience working with broadcast and/or print media preferred. 
  • Proven to be adept at utilizing investment information systems (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Zephyr Analytics). 
  • Strong PC and Microsoft Office suite usage. 
  • Solid experience with investment information systems and attribution software. 

Work Setting/Position Demands:

  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
