Chief Inspector - FMM
Purpose of Job:
The Chief Inspector is responsible for providing leadership, guidance, and shipbuilding expertise to a team of inspectors that will verify quality and workmanship at Fincantieri Marinette Marine (FMM) in support of the Medium Landing Ship (LSM) program, one of the most consequential and complex shipbuilding programs in the country. This individual will play a critical role as part of TOTE Services’ Vessel Construction Manager (VCM) team. This individual will report directly to the TOTE Services Project Manager - FMM.
With support from the Project Manager, the Chief Inspector will be responsible for demonstrating a deep commitment to safety by implementing, supporting and adhering to a shipyard safety program that aligns with TOTE Services’ core values and organizational objectives. The position will be working closely with shipyard supervisors, QC, production labor, and their subcontractors (including ABS) to conduct tests and inspections to demonstrate strict adherence to contract requirements and performance standards. The Chief Inspector will also be responsible for independently evaluating the shipbuilder’s construction progress against published schedules.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of progressive multi-disciplinary shipbuilding experience, preferably with commercial and U.S. Government construction programs, with demonstrated expertise all facets of ship construction and delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chief Inspector will represent TOTE Services in all aspects of construction oversight during vessel fabrication, including panel assembly, block erection, surface preparation and coating, machinery and equipment installation, outfitting, electrical, and onboard safety systems. This individual will manage a team of inspectors and is expected to carry-out the following fundamental duties:
This position will be required to travel via all modes of transportation within the Continental U.S. and potential overseas facilities. Ability to obtain a government-issued passport is required.

The Chief Inspector may be required to perform additional duties pertaining to the VCM, or could be asked to provide subject matter expertise in support of other programs within the organization as necessary.
