Job description

Quality Manager/Total Quality Manager

Aerospace Manufacturing | Quality Systems | Operational Excellence

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Total Quality Manager to lead Quality, Testing, and EHS functions within a high-performance aerospace manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to Operations leadership, this role is responsible for driving product quality, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

This is a key leadership position for a quality professional who thrives in fast-paced production environments and has a strong background in AS9100 quality systems, aerospace standards, and manufacturing process improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily Quality and Testing operations to support production flow and on-time customer delivery
  • Own and maintain the AS9100-certified Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure inspection, testing, and release activities support manufacturing throughput
  • Manage incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including First Article Inspections (FAIs)
  • Drive rapid resolution of quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Lead internal audits, customer audits, supplier quality activities, and compliance initiatives
  • Oversee calibration systems and measurement equipment compliance
  • Manage MRB activities, RMAs, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Analyze quality metrics and lead initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
  • Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
  • Lead Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs, including chemical handling and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and mentor a hands-on quality team while promoting accountability and quality ownership on the shop floor

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of quality leadership experience in manufacturing environments; aerospace preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace quality requirements
  • Experience with elastomer, polymer, or related manufacturing processes preferred
  • Proven expertise in QMS management, audits, MRB, corrective actions, and product qualification
  • Experience with FAI processes and quality validation activities
  • Working knowledge of root cause methodologies such as 8D and 5 Whys
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • ERP/MRP system experience
  • ASQ certifications such as CQE or CQM are a plus
