Test Lead (NASCO, Facets)
Detroit, MI (Remote)
W2 contract role
12+ Months
Position Overview

The Test Lead is responsible for coordinating and overseeing testing activities for assigned applications, projects, releases, or business areas within the Managed Testing Services organization. This role provides day-to-day leadership to Quality Engineers, ensures testing deliverables meet established quality standards, and serves as the primary testing contact for project teams, application teams, and customer stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead testing activities for assigned applications, projects, enhancements, releases, and production changes.
  • Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional designs, and technical documentation to determine testing scope.
  • Develop test strategies, test plans, estimates, schedules, and resource assignments.
  • Coordinate test case design, test data preparation, test execution, defect management, and test closure activities.
  • Ensure testing activities are aligned with project timelines, release schedules, and Managed Testing Services processes.
  • Monitor testing progress and adjust assignments or priorities when delivery risks arise.
  • Confirm that entrance and exit criteria are met before testing phases begin or are completed.

Required Qualifications


  • Five or more years of software testing or quality assurance experience.
  • Two or more years of experience leading testing activities, projects, or testing teams.
  • Experience developing test strategies, test plans, estimates, test cases, and test completion reports.
  • Experience managing functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and software testing lifecycle processes.
  • Experience with defect management, risk-based testing, requirement traceability, and release-readiness assessments.
  • Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience supporting healthcare payer, health plan, claims, enrollment, provider, clinical, financial, or customer-service applications.
  • Knowledge of healthcare business processes, including claims processing, member enrollment, provider enrollment, benefits, billing, or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with enterprise healthcare platforms such as NASCO, Facets, NCompass, Salesforce, Availity, mobile applications, interactive voice response systems, or healthcare APIs.
  • Experience with testing tools such as qTest, ClearQuest, Jira, Tosca, Selenium, Postman, or similar tools.
  • Experience coordinating globally distributed teams across onshore, nearshore, and offshore locations.
  • Experience identifying automation candidates and partnering with automation teams.
