Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Playwright / TypeScript
Location: Farmington Hills, MI or Okemos, MI (Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite)
Compensation: Up to $42/hr
Are you passionate about test automation and building scalable quality engineering solutions?
Our client is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help drive quality across modern web applications and APIs. This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you'll work with Playwright, TypeScript, SQL, Jenkins, and AI-assisted development tools to build robust automation frameworks and improve software quality across the development lifecycle.
This is not a script-maintenance role-we are seeking someone who can design, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks while partnering closely with developers and product teams.
What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain automated UI and API tests using Playwright and TypeScript
  • Expand automation frameworks and create reusable testing components
  • Validate backend data using SQL (Oracle preferred
  • Test modern web applications and REST APIs
  • Execute and maintain automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
  • Analyze failures using logs, traces, network activity, and database validation
  • Perform exploratory, regression, integration, and manual testing when needed
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and QA teams during development
  • Utilize GitHub Copilot and AI-powered tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage
What We're Looking For
