FELT NYC, Inc (aka FELT Education) is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of New York.

The Role

We are currently looking to bring on 2-3 individuals to form our communications team. Tasks will range from content creation and strategy to social media management & coordination. These roles will be key to driving our fundraising efforts, student recruitment, and supporting program campaigns and informational content for our beneficiaries.

Essential Duties

Content Creation

  • Create and edit a variety of content such as text posts, graphics and videos
  • Assist with newsletter
  • Collaborate with Program and Communications teams to determine needs
  • Monitor trends, platform updates, and emerging formats.

Social Media management

  • Manage content calendars, scheduling, and publishing across multiple platforms
  • Engage with followers and manage communities across all platforms
  • Report to and coordinate with respective team members

Strategy & Coordination

  • Develop communications plans, timelines, and tools to support initiatives.
  • Help to craft compelling stories and content to highlight organization's impact and support fundraising initiatives
  • Establish processes and campaigns to ensure beneficiaries are connected to wider resources
  • Coordinate with student recruiter to develop and promote outreach to prospective students
  • Accompany program objectives with communication strategies

Qualifications

  • Experience in communications preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals
  • Genuine interest in supporting refugees and migrant populations
  • Compassionate and demonstrates cultural sensitivity
  • Comfortable functioning independently in a 100% remote environment with distributed teams
  • Preference for those fluent in Spanish, Creole, or Arabic

Schedule

  • Flexible hours with an average of 2-5 hours per week
