Job description

High school diploma preferred.  Minimum of two years' experience as a Seamstress.  Ability to operate a sewing machine, and sit for long periods.  Must have a full understanding of mending and construction techniques.  Ability to read, write and speak English preferred.

Responsible for altering and maintaining designed uniforms.  Makes necessary adjustments to flat and fitted items.  Performs other sewing and related duties as assigned by management.  Performs light maintenance sewing chores on employee uniforms or other linen fabric such as button replacement and mending of torn articles.  Presses garments as required.  Makes alterations by utilizing industrial power sewing machine and/or hand stitching.  Records daily activities and work performed.  Maintains stock in a neat, orderly fashion.  Ensures equipment used is maintained in good condition.  May repair housekeeping linens, drapes and/or curtains.  Responsible for assisting the Wardrobe Counter Attendants when needed, assisting employees with uniform exchange according to established procedures.
