Job description

Top Choice Dumpsters is seeking a dependable, motivated driver to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, shows initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where every day brings new challenges.

We heavily value honesty, reliability, and a strong work ethic. It is our top priority to ensure that every customer is thrilled with our service, and equally important that every member of our team feels valued, heard, and respected. We are a growing company—currently operating two trucks and actively adding a third—which means huge opportunities for long-term career growth and the chance to transition into a Class B CDL driving role as we expand. If you are a dedicated professional who isn’t done until the job is done right, you’ll fit right in!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safe Operations: Safely deliver, place, and pick up roll-off dumpsters at various residential and commercial locations.

  • Equipment Handling: Operate non-CDL medium-duty trucks and roll-off hoist equipment (comprehensive training available for fast learners).

  • Precision Driving: Successfully navigate tight spaces, narrow driveways, and construction sites utilizing strong depth perception and spatial awareness.

  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and internal team members.

  • Maintenance & Safety: Perform daily pre/post-trip equipment checks, report maintenance needs, and strictly adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.

  • Yard & Materials: Empty dumpsters and assist with sorting scrap materials when needed.

Requirements:

  • License: Valid standard Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Class B CDL is NOT required, but a huge plus if you have one or are interested in getting one!).

  • Experience: Experience driving medium-duty trucks (box trucks, flatbeds, etc.) is preferred but not required for fast learners. Experience operating roll-off dumpsters is a plus, OR a strong willingness to learn.

  • Age/Background: Must be 21+ years of age for insurance purposes and be able to pass a standard background check.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to consistently lift up to 40 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Mindset: Strong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a "finish the job" work ethic.

  • Ambition: A desire for long-term growth and a willingness to step up as the company expands its fleet.

  • Availability: Flexible schedule, including readiness for occasional nights and weekends as business demands.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

What You Can Expect From Us:

At Top Choice Dumpsters, we believe in treating our drivers like partners. You can expect:

  • Absolute honesty and transparency.

  • Clear work instructions and organized routing.

  • Mutual respect and an open-door policy.

  • A relaxed, supportive environment that genuinely values your feedback and ideas.

  • A clear pathway and support for career advancement as we add CDL-required trucks to our fleet.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Competitive Pay: Attractive hourly rate based on experience.

  • Overtime: Frequent opportunities for overtime pay.

  • Growth Track: A 90-day performance review with potential compensation increase.

  • Paid Time Off: Vacation time accrued and available after 1 year.

  • Career Advancement: Upward mobility and internal promotion opportunities as the company grows.
