Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 9/80 Work Schedule

As a Tooling Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing the tooling, fixtures, gauges, and production equipment that enable aerospace manufacturing and experimental operations. Your work will directly contribute to improving efficiency, quality, safety, and performance on cutting-edge aviation and defense programs.

What You'll Do

In this position, you will:

  • Design industrial machinery, equipment, and specialized tooling solutions for production and development programs.
  • Develop tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments required for manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate designs for:
    • Accessibility
    • Performance
    • Mobility
    • Manufacturability
    • Cost-effectiveness
  • Perform engineering analysis to ensure tooling integrity and operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct and document stress analysis on tooling and support equipment.
  • Produce engineering documentation and design packages that meet technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, quality, and engineering teams to identify tooling needs and develop practical solutions.
  • Support tooling design improvements that enhance efficiency, safety, and production performance.
  • Review and validate tooling designs to ensure compliance with program specifications and engineering standards.
  • Provide professional engineering oversight and approvals as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) Certification.
  • Ability to perform and approve stress analyses on tooling and related designs.
  • Experience designing tooling, manufacturing equipment, fixtures, jigs, gauges, or production support systems.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, mechanical design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into practical tooling solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace, aviation, or defense industry experience.
  • Experience supporting complex manufacturing or production environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of tooling design methodologies and engineering analysis.
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance practices.

Pay Details: $71.74 per hour
