The Toolroom Team Member is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining tools, hardware, and supplies used in the warehouse facility. This role ensures employees have the necessary tools and materials available to complete their jobs safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include issuing and receiving tools, maintaining inventory accuracy, stocking hardware and consumable supplies, inspecting tools for damage, coordinating repairs or replacements, and keeping the toolroom clean and organized. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to supporting production operations through effective tool and inventory management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Issue, receive, and track tools, hardware, and consumable supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine cycle counts.
  • Stock and replenish toolroom inventory to ensure availability of essential items.
  • Inspect tools and equipment for wear, damage, or missing components.
  • Coordinate tool repairs, calibration, and replacement as needed.
  • Organize and maintain tool storage areas for easy identification and access.
  • Process requests for tools, hardware, and supplies from employees and departments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate purchasing needs to management.
  • Receive and verify incoming tool and hardware shipments.
  • Keep the toolroom clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control and tool management.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years previous experience in inventory control, toolroom operations, warehouse operations, preferred.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, hardware, and industrial supplies.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.

Physical & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Knowledge of industrial hardware, fasteners, PPE, and supplies.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production teams.
