Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Material Handler to our team to support our continued growth.


This is a full-time position based in Toledo, Ohio. We offer competitive wages, growth opportunities and a clean, safe work environment.

WHAT TOLEDO TOOL & DIE CAN OFFER YOU:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Load and/or unload incoming/outgoing materials.
  • Set-up expedites for shipment to customer based as needed.
  • Coordinate the transportation of parts to/from various TTD locations due to Hot Loads or Sorting activity.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, such as bill of lading, and/or shipping orders to route materials.
  • Examine contents and compare records, such as manifest, invoices or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Plan work assignments and equipment allocations to meet transportation, operations, or production goals.
  • Review orders, production schedules, shipping or receiving notices to determine work sequences and material shipping dates, types, volumes, or destinations.
  • Inspect or test materials, stock, vehicles, equipment, or facilities to ensure that they are safe, free of defects, and consistent with specifications.
  • Coordinate forklift and Raymond repairs with respective vendors in a timely fashion
  • Train and/or retrain operators in the proper use of material handling equipment, such as a forklift or Raymond Lift.
  • Resolve worker problems or collaborate with employees to assist in problem resolution.
  • Recommend personnel actions, such as employee selection, evaluation, rewards, or disciplinary actions.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Capable of performing all duties of a Material Handler or Dock Auditor.
  • Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Experience operating large industrial equipment is preferred
  • Forklift Operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift training program is required within the first 30 days of employment for both sit-down, as well as stand-up lifts.
  • Prefer six (6) months of warehousing and inventory experience.
  • Prefer six (6) months experience operating a forklift and/or stand-up lift
  • Physical ability to mount/dismount forklift through the duration of the shift which requires bending, stretching, stepping, reaching, climbing, and stooping, as well as standing, walking, crouching, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules
  • Ability to read, understand and follow directions/instructions
  • Ability to use automated inventory control equipment
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment screening (background check and drug screen).
  • Identified candidates must be able to work overtime (daily, weekends and holidays).
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Report for work on time to support production startup.
