Job Summary: Leads and/or participates in designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines, data integration solutions and ETL/ELT processes utilizing data engineering tools and platforms to support analytics and reporting across TMNAS Business Units.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads and/or participates in the design and development of complex data pipelines, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and decision support systems' data procedures
  • Leads and/or participates in implementation of data integration solutions to ensure the availability of high-quality data for analytics and reporting
  • Collaborates with data analysts, architects, engineers and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
  • Ensures data quality and consistency by identifying and resolving data issues and creating data reconciliations
  • Optimizes data workflows and processing for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Monitors data pipelines and proactively addresses issues to minimize downtime and disruptions
  • Works with stakeholders to aid with data-related technical issues
  • Documents data engineering processes, data lineage, and data dictionaries
  • Stays current with data engineering technologies, best practices, and industry trends
  • Creates, maintains and updates various knowledge articles such as Standard Operating Procedures, Knowledge Base Articles, FAQ, Design and Configuration documents

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 7+ years of overall IT experience. 3+ years of experience in data engineering and management
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and SQL programming
  • SQL Server-specific knowledge required
  • Strong knowledge of Python preferred
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based data platforms preferred (Databricks/Snowflake/Azure)
  • Knowledge of Informatica is preferred
  • Knowledge of P&C Insurance industry preferred
  • Strong proficiency in data processes and knowledge of data models
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering technologies and tools, including data lakes, data warehouses, and cloud-based solutions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems, ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
  • Proactive approach in staying updated on industry trends and emerging data technologies
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate)
  • Strong interpersonal relationship building skills: able to work with a variety of people and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
  • Strong analytical ability with the capability to determine the root cause of problems and issues and provide solutions
  • Strategic thinking: Applies organizational acumen to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple, competing, frequently changing time-sensitive deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to work effectively and lead a team

Salary range$108,000 to $135,000. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
