Wait Staff Job Description Below is an outline of duties and expectations of what Three Dollar Cafe is looking for from our wait staff.Necessary Tasks:Guest Service - Wait staff are responsible for a variety of guest service tasks including but not limited to : oProviding excellent guest service oGreeting patrons once they are seated o Explaining menu items to guests oAnswering questions from guests about food and beverages oUpdating information with guests about the status of their orders oRefilling guest drink orders throughout their meal oBeing sensible to guests who may need additional items or help oFollowing up with guests to verify they are satisfied with their orders Sales Duties - Wait staff must be able to handle different sales specific tasks including but not limited tooUpselling additional food, desserts and beverageso Suggestive selling of promotional itemso Taking orders from guests and inputting them accurately into a POS systemo Delivering checks in a timely and polite manner Accepting payments precisely oEncouraging guests to complete surveys, contests, etc. Operations oCommunicating guest orders to kitchen staff when neededo Ensuring guest orders are presented properly oDelivering orders to guests in an efficient mannero Removing empty plates, silverware, cups and used napkins from tableso Determining when guests have completed their mealso Attending team and/or shift meetings in a punctual manner oTraining new food servers o Assisting other team members Compliance - Wait staff plays an important role in regulatory obligations including but not limited to:oVerifying age of guests who order alcoholic beverageso Adhering to health dept. rules and regulationso Practicing and training the principles of safe food handling and serviceo Compliant with Three Dollar Cafe's bylaws and practices Hostess - During downtimes, clockedin wait staff are expected to perform hostess duties that include but not limited to:oTaking orders by phone in an accurate manneroAnswering the phone in an energetic greeting mentioning the restaurant, your name, and how you can assist

oAssembling togo orders properly and verifying oHaving guests verify their togo orders at pickup oGreeting guests at the door and seating them oCash register operations Service and setup - Wait staff is expected to set up their section along with doing running and weekly side work that include but not limited to:o Keeping their section cleaned at all times. I.e. Floor, tables, chairs, etc

oHaving their tables well stocked i.e. -ketchup bottles, sweetener containers, salt & pepper shakers, paper towels, etc. oRolling silverware oMopping their section oWiping down glass where needed oCleaning soda machines thoroughly oCleaning baseboards and partitionso Performing their scheduled cleaning duties in a timely manner o Restocking and cleaning service areas i.e

tea, coffee, napkins, togo area, condiments, lemons, creamers, straws, ice, cups, sanitizing, wiping countertops, etc. Knowledge, skills and abilities oAbility to operate a point of sale system (POS) including processing payments. oAbility to communicate in a professional manner with guests and team members oAbility to read, comprehend and follow instructions and menu items oPrevious food/retail service experience or formal training in hospitality of 2 yrs a plus in a fast paced environment.Physical Requirements:oWellkept in personal hygiene oAlways smiling oAbility to lift, carry, deliver and serve from trays weighing up to 50lbs throughout an 8hr shift oAbility to stand and walk continuously throughout an 8hr shift Ability to bend and reach while carrying plates and trays throughout an 8hr shift oVisual acuity to review restaurant menus, take orders, navigate dining area, kitchen, other parts of the facility o Ability to attend work and meetings as scheduled Employee Job Description Acknowledgement I have received a copy of the job description for the position I am being offered
