Job Summary

Job title: Interventional Psychiatrist

Location: Bronx, NY

Reports to: Medical Director

Position Summary: The Department of Behavioral Health at Essen has an immediate opening for a full-time Interventional Psychiatrist with a focus on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy and TMS consultation. This role is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge, non-pharmacological psychiatric treatment to patients with treatment-resistant depression and other qualifying conditions. The Interventional Psychiatrist will work closely with Essen's Behavioral Health Team to identify appropriate candidates for TMS, oversee treatment protocols, and provide expert consultation to referring providers across the organization. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and grow an innovative TMS program within one of the Bronx's largest and most dynamic healthcare organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to determine patient candidacy for TMS therapy based on evidence-based clinical criteria.
  • Administer and oversee TMS treatment sessions in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Provide TMS consultations to internal referring providers, including Primary Care Physicians and Behavioral Health clinicians, across Essen's network.
  • Monitor patient progress throughout the TMS treatment course and adjust protocols as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary Behavioral Health Team to ensure coordinated, whole-patient care.
  • Educate clinical staff and providers on TMS indications, contraindications, and patient selection criteria.
  • Document all clinical services, evaluations, and treatment notes in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Stay current with emerging research and advancements in interventional psychiatry and TMS technology.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) with completion of a General Psychiatry Residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Demonstrated experience and training in TMS therapy and interventional psychiatric procedures
  • Current NYS licensure as a Physician with valid DEA registration
  • Strong communication and consultation skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus but not a requirement
  • Full-time, 40-hours 
  • 100% on-site
