About the Role
The Business Relationship Management (BRM) Lead serves as the strategic interface between IT and the business for assigned portfolios within Philadelphia Insurance Companies. This role is accountable for understanding business strategy, shaping technology roadmaps, prioritizing investments, and ensuring delivery of solutions that create measurable business value.
The BRM Lead is a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, translating business goals into actionable technology initiatives while maintaining strong alignment with TMNAS IT teams. Success in this role requires deep Property & Casualty insurance knowledge, executive presence, and experience guiding complex initiatives across underwriting, claims, and other core insurance functions.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
Business & Strategy Alignment
  • Serve as the primary technology partner to PHLY business leaders, ensuring IT initiatives align with short- and long-term business strategies
  • Develop a deep understanding of underwriting, claims, and operational processes to anticipate business needs and opportunities
  • Guide the future-state vision for assigned business areas and recommend technology-enabled improvements
  • Provide input into strategic planning discussions with business and IT executives

Portfolio & Demand Leadership
  • Lead prioritization of IT initiatives based on business value, capacity, budget, and strategic alignment
  • Ensure transparency into delivery status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes
  • Own escalation and resolution of critical technology issues impacting business operations
  • Advocate for effective change management to enable successful adoption of new capabilities

Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with executive stakeholders across PHLY and TMNAS
  • Facilitate and contribute to leadership, planning, and strategy meetings
  • Manage stakeholder satisfaction across both project and non-project IT services
  • Navigate organizational dynamics effectively to influence decision-making and outcomes

Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with TMNAS technology teams to ensure successful execution and implementation
  • Coordinate across multiple IT domains to address cross-system and cross-process impacts
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners to deliver business-aligned solutions

Industry & Thought Leadership
  • Stay current on insurance and technology trends impacting commercial and specialty P&C carriers
  • Represent business needs effectively across TMNAS and at industry forums when appropriate

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 8-10+ years of IT experience with increasing responsibility in business-facing roles
  • 5-7+ years of experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry, with exposure to underwriting, claims, and/or related business functions
  • Experience working with or within a commercial or specialty P&C insurance carrier strongly preferred
  • Proven success leading large, complex initiatives in business/IT partnership roles
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance operations, products, and regulatory considerations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive-level stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Property & Casualty designations (e.g., AINS) and BRM certification preferred
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members is a plus
