With over 20 years of experience supporting the metalworking community of Northern Illinois and Indiana, HFO Chicago is the exclusive distributor for Haas CNC machine tools and rotary products. We're proud to represent America's largest machine tool builder, offering a complete range of; 5-axis universal machining centers, vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, CNC lathes, CNC mills, rotary tables and 5C collet indexers. All Haas machine tools and rotary products are built to deliver high accuracy, repeatability and durability.
Summary of Responsibilities:
As an Applications Engineer, you are responsible for the part programming of CNC Machine Tools, process development and customer training in an industrial environment using state-of-the-art equipment. This opportunity offers a hybrid schedule that consists of both remote and in-office work as well as regular travel to customer locations across Indiana and the northern half of Illinois.
What You Will Contribute:
  • Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposals
  • Making accurate cost estimates, writing engineering reports, and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Programming and setting up CNC lathes, CNC vertical or horizontal mills.
  • Developing/ implementing custom demonstrations and training customers in the safe set up and operation of CNC machining centers and lathes.
  • Maintaining an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by the comp

  • Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
