Direct Support Professional


Responsible for providing direct support, positive direction, and assistance to persons with disabilities in accordance withprogram policies and procedures; and personal centered goals by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with information gathering for Individual Centered Goals, and other assessments;

2. Assist persons with disabilities with maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly home by following safety and infection control procedures; educate persons with disabilities about maintaining homes.

3. Maintain and expand skills and knowledge relevant to providing high quality support and services.

4. Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings and apply the information to support persons with disabilities served;

5. Maintain open communication and cooperative work effort with Residential Program Manager and other staff to assure quality and consistency of support to persons with disabilities served;

6. Support the Project Redirect Mission, Vision, and Core Values while empowering each persons with disabilities to direct their own life choices;

7. Report and/or document routine and unusual events including completing daily logs, accident reports, outcome data sheets, etc. in a concise, understandable, and legible manner;

8. Assist persons with disabilities with fiscal management while safeguarding their funds. This may include completing ledgers, reconciling accounts and assisting people with spending choices;

9. Ensure that persons with disabilities exercise their rights and that rights are not restricted without due process; ensure that persons with disabilities are treated with dignity and respect.

10. Responsible for ensuring that all ISPs and Behaviors programs are implemented and feedback given to the Residential Manager.


Education and/or Experience:

High school graduate or equivalent. One years experience with persons with disabilities or as required by regulations. Must be 18 years of age, or older.



Certificates, Licenses or Registrations:

Must possess CPR and TME certification. Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record as defined by Project ReDirect policy. Clear background checks as defined by DDS and Project Redirect regulations and policies.
