Job description

In order to continually provide our members with the highest level of service, we are seeking an experienced, results-oriented and service-focused individual to join our consumer lending team in the role of Consumer Loan Processor.

This will be a hybrid position working partly at home and partly at our corporate headquarters in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Applicants must be able to commute to Basking Ridge, NJ for 1 week per month. Flexibility to work 1 Saturday per month is also required. The work schedule for this position is 8:30am-5pm.

The Consumer Loan Processor is responsible for funding all direct loan applications. Completes all processing functions including monitoring applications, discussing loan details with members, handling member inquiries and delegating calls. Collaborates with the underwriting team to process and close all loans effectively, efficiently and according to departmental guidelines.

The starting salary range for a new hire in this position is $50k-$55k. The wage/salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several qualifying factors, including but not limited to: years of relevant experience, years of industry experience, education, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Thoroughly and accurately process, finalize and book consumer loans.
  • Collecting and uploading documents. Ensure validity and accuracy of all supporting documentation required for each loan type.
  • Communicates loan decision and status to members. Obtains information concerning member’s loan needs by thoroughly reading Loan Origination System (LOS) notes and conditions and relaying all necessary action items to the member.
  • Ensures applications are completed in accordance with Affinity’s policies, procedures, and guidelines prior to funding.
  • Answer phones and delegate calls as necessary
  • Processes and distributes mail
  • Manages all processor status queues
  • Provide support to underwriters, supervisor and manager on special projects as needed.
  • Builds and maintains member relationships
  • Contacts members regarding their loan application decision, discusses member’s individual financial needs and cross-sells Affinity’s products and services to satisfy those needs.
  • Handles branch and call center related questions concerning members loan applications.
  • Maintains knowledge of all marketing promotions, products, services, policies and procedures

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred. Financial institution experience preferred.
