OB DESCRIPTION
We are a Title Company in Rockville and are seeking a Settlement Attorney. The Settlement Attorney will be responsible for the day-to-day examination and underwriting of title files. They will also be responsible for reviewing and drafting legal documents, resolving curative matters and conducting closings.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the land title industry is required.
EDUCATION
  • College Degree and Juris Doctorate Degree required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE
  • Member of Maryland Bar, Title Insurance License, and Notary Public
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Must have an understanding of title operations, underwriting and state guidelines.
  • Clears and resolves curative matters
  • Reviews commitments for accuracy
  • Assists processors with questions regarding curative matters
  • Answers client questions pertaining to title insurance
  • Reviews underwriting bulletins and disseminate information to other employees
  • Reviews and draft deeds
  • Drafts contracts for new clients
  • Conducts settlements
  • Experience with Qualia is a plus
