SR. HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER

THE RUNDOWN

Playfly Sports is looking for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) to join our team in Atlanta, GA.

Reporting directly to the Head of People, the Sr. HRBP will serve as a strategic partner to leaders and employees across the Playfly Sports Properties (PSP) division. This role will provide guidance and leadership on employee relations, performance management, talent development, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and change management initiatives while helping leaders build high-performing teams and achieve business objectives. In addition, the Sr. HRBP will support key people initiatives, including employee recognition, mentoring, diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, and employee engagement efforts. This role will also partner with leadership and stakeholders to support organizational growth, integration activities, and workforce transitions associated with mergers and acquisitions.

The ideal candidate brings strong HR Business Partner experience, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to influence leaders at all levels of the organization. Experience supporting collegiate athletics, university environments, and/or organizations with Title IX considerations is strongly preferred.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Partner with leadership to uncover and address training and development gaps
  • Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with respective business units/locations
  • Consult with management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
  • Assess training and development needs with the goal of determining the appropriate delivery method (i.e., self-paced training, Human Resources Business Partner led training, securing outside vendor assistance)
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions)
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Support design and implementation of succession planning and key talent review meetings and processes across the company; identify or create tools and processes for assessing and developing talent
  • Employee recognition and engagement programs
  • Assist with investigating employee complaints
  • Assist with performance management processes and identify training and coaching
  • Assist with HR policy development and provide policy guidance and interpretation
  • Assist with employee communications and employee support
  • Assist Head of Human Resources and Sr. Human Resources Business Partner with any other HR tasks
  • Other job-related duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR) credential strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5-8 years' experience in an HRBP role, with an emphasis on learning and development and employee relations
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, sports industry experience is a plus
  • Experience supporting fast-paced, client-service organizations within sports, media, marketing, consulting, agency, or related environments is strongly preferred
  • Experience working with LMS HRIS knowledge and experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent time management skills

TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Sedentary role which operates in an office environment

Compensation

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

The Base Pay Range For This Role Is

$115,000-$132,000 USD
