Title: Business Development Manager
Duration: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Austin, TX
Job Description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing organizations customer service territory by successfully introducing the company to residential real estate developers. The Company prides itself on its problem-solving non-sales approach to working with developers/builders.
This person gathers data about proposed developments, shepherding financial models to determine whether a development fits the company's investment requirements. Prepare proposals and contracts and ultimately assisting with the execution of agreements with developers.
The Texas Business Development Manager is involved in the process until all infrastructure in the community is installed and is expected to maintain the developer relationship on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities
  • Meet with developers/builderson a continuous basis to discuss potential opportunities and manageexisting projects.
  • Attend city council/planning& zoning committee meetings throughout Texas.
  • Meet with housing marketexperts on a quarterly basis.
  • Attend networking events suchas the Home Builder's Association, Community Builders Advisory Services,and other related development/home building groups.
  • On a regular basis, drivegrowth corridors to track ongoing/upcoming developments.
  • Coordinate with other branch office colleagues on joint water-sewer-natural gas proposals and projects.
  • Work closely withgeneral manager and construction staff on future projects.
  • Source new prospects andprojects for senior business development management to evaluate.
  • Requires travel to all Texasmarkets on an ongoing basis.
    • Travel ranges from one totwo nights a week.Company vehiclewill be made available.Travel mayinclude occasional trips to assist with development projects in other operating jurisdictions across the western US.

  • Bachelor's degree inmarketing, business or a similar area or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experiencein Business development.
  • Requires excellentinterpersonal skills and presentation skills. The ability to effectivelycommunicate verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizationalskills to meet goals and set priorities.
  • Technical skills required tocreate proposals and find solutions to meet clients' requirements.
  • Experienced in the realestate, real estate development, or home building industries.
  • Understanding of financialstatements and investment modeling.
  • Proven ability to beself-directed and manage time and deadlines effectively.
