What are Titanic jobs?

Titanic jobs refer to the roles and positions that were available on the RMS Titanic, the famous British passenger liner that sank in 1912. These jobs included a wide range of staff, from officers, engineers, and deck crew to hospitality positions like stewards, chefs, and musicians. Each role was essential for the ship's operation, passenger comfort, and safety. The Titanic's workforce was organized into different departments, reflecting the complexity of running a luxury ocean liner of that era.

What are some common challenges faced by a marine engineer working on large passenger vessels like cruise ships?

Marine engineers on large passenger vessels, such as cruise ships, often face challenges related to maintaining and troubleshooting complex onboard systems, including propulsion, electrical, and HVAC. They must ensure all machinery operates efficiently and safely, manage periodic maintenance schedules, and respond quickly to technical issues that could impact passenger comfort or vessel safety. Collaboration with other departments is essential, especially in emergency situations or when coordinating repairs while the ship is at sea. Adapting to the unique environment of life at sea, including long periods away from home and irregular hours, is also a key aspect of the role.
