Job description

Role Overview:

The Printing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Printing and Sheeting Departments, ensuring that production goals, quality standards, and operational efficiency are consistently met. This role manages production personnel, coordinates workflows, leads waste-reduction initiatives, and monitors equipment performance while supporting a safe and productive manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong experience in printing press operations, pressroom supervision, and production management, and the ability to support second-shift operations and respond to production challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of KBA/Heidelberg press experience, preferably with large format 7-color presses.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing or printing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with spectrophotometry and lab color measurement.
  • Experience within die cutting, laminating, or printing operations in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong understanding of FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience managing pressroom production, workflow coordination, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and support print production issues.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime and support operational needs as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise printing operations: Manage daily pressroom and sheeting department operations during second shift production.
  • Monitor production performance: Coordinate workflow, maximize efficiency, and minimize downtime throughout printing operations.
  • Support quality standards: Ensure production quality meets customer specifications and maintain compliance with G7 standards.
  • Reduce waste and improve efficiency: Identify opportunities to decrease costs, reduce setup times, and improve operational performance.
  • Manage departmental inventory: Control and monitor supplies required for pressroom and sheeting operations.
  • Coordinate with customers and departments: Support press approvals and collaborate with Graphics, Scheduling, and Production teams.
  • Address equipment issues: Report and coordinate maintenance repairs for printing and production equipment.
  • Ensure food safety compliance: Maintain departmental compliance with FSSC 22000 requirements and company procedures.
  • Promote workplace safety: Observe and report safety concerns throughout the department and facility.
  • Support personnel management: Assist with scheduling, staffing coverage, employee training, and performance management.
  • Lead sheeting department operations: Coordinate production and personnel activities to support printing department goals.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
