Position Summary/Objective: We are seeking a dedicated Account Executive for our Business Development team to develop, service, and nurture client relationships. As an Account Executive in Business Development, you are a comprehensive sales consultant with a strong emphasis on selling the full menu of ticket products for the Timberwolves, including Season Memberships (Full, Half, Quarter), Partial Plans, Groups, and Premium.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Generate new ticket sales revenue from full & partial season memberships, premium seating, and group tickets by connecting with B2B and B2C leads curated by the Business Intelligence team.
  2. Develop pipeline by making daily outbound calls to qualified leads
  3. Host prospects for arena tours, meetings, corporate events
  4. Meet or exceed weekly activity requirements including outbound calls and completed appointments
  5. Provide excellent customer service by creating unique touch points, promptly responding to requests or communications, and establishing a dynamic relationship with all customers.
  6. Document all communication in Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  7. Attend local community and corporate sponsored events to increase networking opportunities
  8. Participate in educational opportunities on product offerings, pricing, and sales strategies, as well as market trends and industry standards to develop your skills.
  9. Perform and strengthen other duties as they are assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

  1. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  2. Computer skills required: experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is preferred.
  3. Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
  4. Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  5. Ability to manage specific processes and tasks in the department under supervision.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year of direct sales experience with the business side of collegiate, minor league or professional sports is preferred but not required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.


Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have supervisory responsibility

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours, staff will be required to work all Wolves home games as well as external events including, but not limited to, charity functions, networking events, etc. Work is both sedentary and active in nature, and the working environment is favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise.

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.

Travel Position may require travel to external events.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Sales Compensation: The base salary for this non-exempt role will be: $50,000 with the opportunity for bonus and commission. Total compensation & offer package will include the following: 
  • Benefits: Regular full-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, health saving accounts with an employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, and life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. Additional benefits may include employer-paid short/long-term disability plans, generous fitness and well-being benefits, work-related reimbursements, and fully paid family/caregiver leave. Regular full-time employees start with 11 Holidays, at least 20 paid PTO days, 2 Volunteer days, and 4 Personal Holidays in each calendar year.
