As a Mass Timber Regional Business Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth of Simpson's share in the Mass Timber market across North America. You will coordinate with and contribute to the overall company efforts to profitably grow our business. You are responsible for identifying and addressing customer needs, competition, and market potential and helping to formulate and execute the business strategy for this industry. You will also lead and participate in training sessions and workshops across North America. These workshops require scheduling, promotion, set-up, presentation, and take-down, as well as providing observation and suggestions for improvement. You will work with the Director of OEM, Regional Sales Managers, Mass Timber Fiber Producers, Integrators, Specifiers, Product Management, Marketing, and other Field Sales Representatives to develop/coordinate sales strategies and programs; and communicate appropriate market trends and field intelligence to provide to Management and Operations to ensure customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Work individually and with team members to identify opportunities, lead project take-off and quote efforts, understand competitive market conditions and industry trends. Develop and maintain relationships with engineers, engineering firms, general contractors, fiber producers and installers across North America. (50%)

Conduct technical presentations for individuals, groups and professional associations involved in mass timber construction, focusing on general technical knowledge as well as the advantages of specifying Simpson products. (25%)

Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as an industry partner and potential employer; participate in trade shows, association meetings and various committees and/or causes; provide educational opportunities in classroom settings throughout your territory to various audiences which could include suppliers, specifiers, building officials, and contractors. (10%)

Other duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, consistent CRM management and usage, scheduling, business planning, submitting expense reports in a timely manner, regular maintenance of company-owned vehicles, and other duties as assigned. (5%)

Work with marketing and product management on the best ways to introduce new products and information to the market. Work with the product management team to help in identifying new potential products and tools needed to increase sales of the product line. (5%)

Provide in-the-office and on-the-job field support to mass timber producers and installers on projects with Simpson specified mass timber solutions offerings. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience and/or training. Fluent in mass timber construction practices and paths to market. Must have a strong working knowledge of project workflow from architect/engineer through the fiber producer to the contractor. Sales and account management experience with a proven track record of sales/profit growth.
  • Technical: Practical working knowledge of common construction methods. Familiarity with Simpson products is a plus.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and present captivating presentations and incorporate sales skills to step a prospect through a story.
  • Creative & Innovative Thinking: Ability to exhibit creativity and innovation when contributing to organizational and individual objectives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires 50-60% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is remote and requires the candidate to be located within the Central or Eastern time zones in the United States, as the role will support our McKinney and Columbus locations.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$93,400 - $126,100 / year
