Requirements:

A         Education: Training beyond high school including either an Associate (A.S.) degree in Electronics Technology (or closely related technical field), or a combination of education and experience which may include skilled trades programs or military training.

A         Years of Experience Required: 4-7 years of electrical maintenance experience. Sawmill or wood products experience preferred.

A         Experience: 4+ years of automation experience and/or industrial maintenance experience.

A        Computer Skills:Standard computer skills; must have strong skills in document organization, theuse of technical materials, and research techniques.

A        Electronic Work OrderSystem utilization is an asset.

A        Ability to prioritizetasks to consistently meet deadlines.

A        Communication Skills:Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all team members

A         Special Skills: Must possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of management and operations personnel; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • General diagnostic and programming of PLCas; Understand PLC operations.
  • Install and maintain electrical control systems.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify, define, and solve problems.
  • Employee must perform safe and timely repairs to plant equipment in areas of electrical and instrument maintenance.
  • Dismantle, adjusts, repairs, and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manual, rough sketches or drawings.
  • Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.
  • Move or assist in the movement and installation of equipment.
  • May be required to source equipment parts.
  • Commitment to top performance in a safe work environment is necessary.
  • Ensure productivity, housekeeping and quality of work standards are maintained within the PLC Technicianas scope of responsibility.
