This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information

Experience and Education
High school graduate and on-the-job training required. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English and have exceptional customer service skills.
Job Duties
Sets up cash register; receives cash till, counts operating cash & places in register. Operates register during pharmacy hours: rings up total charges, explains charges as requested, and makes change.

Delivers prescriptions to patient rooms, patient bedside or where other deliver locations are determined.
Maintains required records and statistics, particularly those involved in cashiering such as register tapes, patient insurance logs, credit card logs, etc. Operates multi-line telephone, answers all calls promptly, quick resolutions, records and triages calls in a timely manner.
Types departmental correspondence efficiently and accurately. Maintains organized patient medical records. Keeps filing up to date. Reports defective equipment/supplies, cashiering problems, and unusual conditions to supervisor. Alerts supervisor immediately of any prescription discrepancies.
Attends in-service meetings and other required training and meetings as directed. Assumes accountability for all actions in the workplace. Utilizes downtime to assist others and/or to provide excellent service to patients and/or families. Organizes prescriptions and provides deliveries efficiently and quickly.
Effective patient/family advocate. Responds to patient?s and/or patients family?s complaints in an appropriate & effective manner. Reports complaints to the Manager or their designee in a timely manner. Utilizes the chain of command appropriately to resolve patient, operational, or personal work related problems. Participates in performance improvement activities as directed. Attends at least 80% of scheduled staff meetings and attends 100% of mandatory educational sessions.
