Monterrey Tile, a leader in the tile and stone industry, is looking for an experienced Controller to join our Leadership team.

*Note: This is an in-office full time position.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Pay: $130,000 - $150,000

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of all accounting activities, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and financial planning and analysis
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the Company
  • Partners with outside insurance, legal, CPA firms and other business
  • Prepares annual budget and provides monthly performance analysis
  • Leads annual preparation of federal and state income tax returns for company
  • Serves as key interface with project, division, cost center and subsidiary personnel, providing accounting support as needed
  • Maintains robust internal controls in compliance with company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements (including federal, state and local income, sales and payroll taxes)
  • Oversight of Company ERP and accounting platforms, driving automation and process improvement as needed and opportunity arise
  • Leads and develops the accounting team this includes hiring, performance reviews and training
  • As a key partner this role provides strategic and executive advice as needed
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience, minimum 5 years in Controller role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advance degree or certification preferred
  • Experience with 401K, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), annual reporting, filings, regulatory requirements
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Hands-on experience with ERP accounting software and financial databases
  • Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle accounting and month-end/year-end close processes
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and data integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to the Leadership team
  • Ability to direct, supervise, and mentor accounting staff in a hands-on environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
