Job description

Description:

wedi Corporation (www.wedicorp.com), is the worldwide industry leader in the manufacturing and development of high-performance and quality shower systems and backer board systems used in the construction of standard and custom tiled wet rooms.

We are hiring a Technical Application Support Manager with home base in the Batavia, Illinois area and with responsibility for technical application support for our U.S. and Canadian markets and sales teams. The position works from the office within the wedi North-America headquarters in Batavia most of the work week and with flexible worktime from home office offered. Initial training will require onsote presence for the first 90 days. The position includes sometimes traveling including overnight ( example: visit of trade shows or large project sites).


The Technical Application Support Manager will have these roles and responsibilities:

  • Help customers ( tile setters, plumbers, renovators and general contractors), wedi sales team and wedi product managers with questions related to the wedi product applications, specifications and building code compliances ( via phone hotline, email, social media channels, text and other messaging tools)
  • Provide project specific product and material take offs and project quotes in collaboration with customer service/ sales team.
  • Manage product and warranty related customer complaints and claims in collaboration with wedi QA and sales team.
  • Review catalogs, specifications and other presentations for technical accuracy.
  • Participate in trade shows, sales meetings, team events and internal trainings.


Requirements:

Minimum 10 years experience as a trade contractor and/ or tile installer ( tiling experience is a must) and with tiling related or other construction materials.

· Spanish language skills are a plus

• Familiar with industry and architectural specifications and construction design elements is essential ( example: TCNA Handbook details)

• Experience with building products or tile and flooring installation products is essential

• Must demonstrate a high level of energy and enthusiasm for the business and be customer driven and professional

• Excellent analytical, organizational, listening and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and writing skills

• Ability to organize travel and work schedules , work independently and in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to effectively present in front of large groups

• Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet is essential

• Willing to travel from time to time with overnight stays

• Must possess a current, valid and unexpired driver’s license with a clean driving record


Physical Demands of the job:

  • The ability to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
  • The ability to frequently sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • The ability to occasionally bend, lift and twist to move or lift up to 50 pounds.
