Job Title

Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) Installer

Job Summary

The Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT) Installer is responsible for preparing surfaces and installing VCT flooring in commercial, industrial, and institutional settings. This role requires precision, physical stamina, and knowledge of flooring materials, adhesives, and finishing techniques to ensure durable, high-quality flooring installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, patching, grinding, or removing existing flooring
  • Measure and mark surfaces to ensure accurate tile layout and alignment
  • Cut, place, and secure vinyl composition tiles using appropriate adhesives
  • Roll installed tiles to ensure proper adhesion and eliminate air pockets
  • Install transitions, base molding, and floor accessories as required
  • Perform stripping, sealing, and waxing (finishing) of VCT flooring
  • Follow blueprints, layout plans, and work orders
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe condition
  • Adhere to safety procedures, OSHA standards, and company policies
  • Repair or replace damaged VCT tiles when necessary
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience installing VCT or other resilient flooring materials
  • Knowledge of adhesives, subfloor preparation, and floor finishing products
  • Ability to read measurements, drawings, and layout plans
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
